Wedding Card using Cut, Foil and Emboss dies - but no foil

Wedding Card using Cut, Foil andEmboss dies - but no foil

For this card I've used Couture Creations Cut, Foil and Emboss dies to emboss and letterpress various elements used on the card.

For the base layer I've used one of the Cut, Foil and Emboss dies from Couture Creations Esthetica Collection - the Flutterby Frames set.  I have cut/embossed with the die using 300gsm white card.

For the bride I have used the Ball Gown cut, foil and emboss die from the Couture Creations Lavish Ballroom collection. To achieve a deep, crisp emboss I cut 2 layers of 250gsm card together.  To create a piece to fill in the space cut out on the bodice and the lady's face I added 2 more small pieces of card to cover just the head and body and die cut again before releasing all of the layers from the die.  It's then easy to trim the backing piece from the layer of card that has only been embossed by the cutting lines.  You may need more or less layers depending on your die cutting machine.  Alternatively you can stick a plain piece of card behind the head and bodice and then trim around it.

The flowers behind the bride are made using more dies from the Lavish Ballroom collection. A little pigment ink has been applied to the die using a blending tool, before cutting with the dies.

For the framed sentiment I have used the Treasured Frames cut, foil and emboss set (Modern Essentials collection).  The tag is cut using the inner frame from the set, inked before die cutting.  The sentiment is stamped in the same ink.

Gentlemans Emporium - Frames and Layers

Gentlemans Emporium - Frames and Layers

For this card I've used one of the 12x12 sheets from the Gentlemans Emporium Collection Pack, along with the Flutterby Frames, Nested Inset Ovals and Bracket Frames cut, foil and emboss die sets.  But I've only used foil with the Flutterby Frames.  The Oval and Bracket frame layers have been cut/embossed using them as dies, in my die cutting machine  - no foiling equipment needed.

The Flutterby Frame is foiled using Chocolate Copper mirror finish foil (CO725691) on black card.

I've cut a section of this paper from the bottom right corner and matted onto black card, mounted on an A5 card blank (14.9cm x 21cm).

The oval is cut form the middle of this piece before sticking it down, and the bracket frame is cut from the top left area (the camera)

As the 12x12 papers are thick paper rather than card, I place a piece of over the back of the paper when die cutting it.  This protects the paper from tearing at the embossed line, and helps with getting are really deep emboss.  To add extra strength when to the die cuts I then glue the 2 layers together.

The border strip at the bottom of the card is snipped from one of the other 12x12 sheets.

The gentleman figure is from the Gentlemans Emporium Ephemera pack.

In my video I show you all the elements for this card, and how to foil the Flutterby Frame.
