Sailing Regatta Birthday Card

I made this card for a young woman who is a sailing instructor.

I used an embossing folder and light blue satin foil to foil the background onto smooth white watercolour card and then add colour using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens and a water brush.  I used the same embossing folder at a different angle to create the impression of waves on the topper, and a different embossing folder to foil the swirls above the stamped sailing boat.

The topper is die cut using Tattered Lace Torn Rectangle nesting die set.

The small sailing dinghies on the bottom panel were a magazine freebie stamps and matching die set and the duck is from another stamp set that came with a magazine.  The corners of the panel are cut out using a 2 way corner rounding punch.

For details of how to foil using embossing folders check out my video on

The edge of the sentiment tag is foiled using the back of the cutting die it's cut out with - details of this technique are also on a YouTube video
